Erika Jean Wood and Jacob David Harms were united in marriage on Saturday, June 20, 1998 at half past four o'clock in the afternoon at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, Texas. Reverend John Crawford officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at Great Southwest Equestrian Center. On the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was held at Las Rosas Mexican Restaurant.
Erika is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Wood of Katy, Texas and Mrs. Miriam A. Camper of Manassas, Virginia. Jay is the son of Mr. David Harms of Bloomington, Illinois and Mrs. Bobette Harms of Naperville, Illinois.
The bride's aunt, Melissa Thornton, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids included Jodi Kahn, Anika Harms and Michelle Castellani. The Junior Bridesmaids was Erin McVicar. Jamison and Jenee Thornton were the flowergirls.
Brian Valek was the best man. The groosmen were Gary Wood, Jr., Gregory Allan, Derek Schaeffer, Don Paullo, Steve Leppard and Jay Kahn.
Erika is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston Law Center. She is a associate with M. Steve Smith & Associates. Jay is a graduate of the University of Illinois. He is a senior engineer with Det Norske Veritas.
Following a honeymoon trip to Rome, Italy and Vienna, Austria, the couple will reside in Spring Valley, Texas.
