Christine Alisa Stearns and Michael Thomas Shopoff were united in marriage on Saturday, June 13, 1998 at St. Ignatius Loyola, Spring, Texas. Father Fran Pistorius, S.J. was the presider at the service and Sarah Black, organist, and Luann McCoy, cantor provided the music. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Northgate Country Club, with music by Kit Reid Entertainment.
Christie is the daughter of Jeff and Judy Stearns of Spring, Texas and the granddaughter of Charlie and Jean Shewmaker of Ft. Pierce, Florida and Vivian Stearns of San Antonio and the late George Stearns. Michael is the son of Tom and Ann Shopoff of Spring, Texas and the grandson of Moira Shopoff of Dallas, the late Robert Shopoff, and the late Jimmie and Helen Henderson.
Trish Oliver of Dallas served as the Maid of Honor and bridesmaids were Raina Hoover, Dallas; Bethany Gallagher, Spring; and Laura Blalock, Westminster, Colorado. Jason Mattox of Dallas served as Best Man and groomsmen were Kevin Shopoff, Plano; Briar Farrar, Spring; and Brien Shopoff, Spring. Serving as flower girls were Grace and Claire Henderson, Longview.
Christie and Michael are 1993 graduates of Klein High School. Christie received a BBA and an MPA degree in 1998 from the University of Texas at Austin. Michael received a BBA in 998 from the University of Texas at Austin and will complete a Bachelor of Music degree this summer.
Following a honeymoon in Washington, D.C., the couple will reside in Houston.
