Miss Stephanie Kay Huff and Mr. Gino Dean Hernandez were united in marriage on Saturday, June 20, 1998 at half past five in the evening at Bear Creek United Methodist Church. Rev. Pat Sparks officiated the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by organist Karen Kline and a string quartet under the direction of Mrs. Louis Trotter. A formal dinner and dance immediately followed the wedding at Pine Forest Country Club. Flowers for the wedding and reception, consisting entirely of yellow roses, were provided by Karen Meyer of Boyd's Flower Shop. Music for the reception was provided by Music Machine. On the eve of the wedding, the rehearsal dinner was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kirkland, parents of the groom at Del Pueblo Mexican Restaurant.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Huff of East Alton, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. John Urban of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Huff of East Alton, Illinois; the late Mr. and Mrs. Warren Watts of Wood River, Illinois; Mr. Kenny Brueggeman, of Roxana, Illinois, and the late Mrs. Wilma Brueggeman; and Mrs. Stella Urban, of Scottsdale, Arizona, formerly of Wood River, Illinois and the late Mr. George Urban.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kirkland of Houston, Texas, and Mr. George Hernandez, also of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Margarita Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas, and the late Mr. Juan Hernandez; and Mrs. Clothilde Schunior of Cartersville, Georgia, and the late Mr. Robert Schunior.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father and stepfather.
Attending the bride as maid of honor was Mrs. Cindy Butkovich, a childhood friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Stacey Wilkerson and Mrs. Shari Wendt, sisters of the bride, Miss Julie Dill, Mrs. Christine Hennessey, Ms. Kathleen Hopkins, and Miss Lines Kolterman. Flower girls were Miss Elizabeth Wilkerson, nieces of the bride, and Miss Ashley Kirkland and Miss Kristy Grogan, nieces of the groom. Hostesses at the wedding were Ms. Jill Huff and Ms. Janet Huff, cousins of the bride.
Serving as best man was Ruben Delgaillo, childhood friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Mr. Brett Huff, brother of the bride, Mr. Michael Lane, Mr. Patrick Martelon, Mr. Rodney Martin, Mr. Chris Wells, and Mr. Justin Wiesman. Mr. Colton Wilkerson, nephew of the bride, served as ringbearer. Ushers included Mr. David Watts, cousin of the bride, Mr. Johnny Wilkerson and Mr. Craig Wendt, brothers-in-law of the bride, Mr. Ignacio Delvilla, Mr. Kris Reyes, Mr. Raul Figueroa and Mr. Edwin Archibol.
The bride is a graduate of Roxana High School in Roxana, Illinois and Visible Changes University in Houston, Texas. She is currently employed as a hair designer at Beau Gens in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The groom is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, Texas and a May 1996 graduate of Texas A&M; University with a degree in Industrial Distribution. He is employed by Warren Electric Group, Houston, Texas, and is currently on assignment in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Following a honeymoon to Rome, Italy, the couple will reside in Ocean Park,Puerto Rico.
