John Brandon Herring
Jamie Elizabeth Mock and John Brandon Herring were united in marriage Saturday, May 16, 1998 by the Reverend Terry Thompson at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Bob Brewer provided the music.
John is the son of Dr. Beverly Ann Herring and Dr. James W. Herring, the grandson of MayDeene and Curtis Herring of Baytown and Marie Ward of Angleton, and great-nephew of Monty and Joann Montgomery of Houston.
Jamie is the daughter of Steven Patrick Mock and Dr. Lou Ann Todd Mock, the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Bruck of Manning, Iowa and the late Raymond Todd and Elizabeth Ricketts Todd of Memphis, Tennessee.
The Maid of Honor was Jillian Hamilton, while the bridesmaids were Kasey Mock, Liza Davis, Donley McGuirt, and Ricki Simmons. John's Best Man was Charles Simmons, while the groomsmen were Sean Hicks, Britt Carter, Brent Bater, and Justin Mock. The flower girl was John's niece, Lisa Murray, the ringbearer was his nephew Andrew Evard, while the escort to the flowergirl was his nephew, Jason Evard.
Ushers were Clinton Davis, Eric Little, Stephen Roberts, and Todd Summer Bilderback. Maggie and Todd Bilderback lit the bride and groom candles.
The bride wore a formal gown of white silk shantung. Her fitted bodice had a scooped neckline and a slightly dropped waist. Heavily beaded designs trimmed the neckline, long sleeves, and waist. A beaded design of pearls and sequins edged her hemline and her cathedral length train. Her veil was a tiara of irridescents and pearls with import English illusions.
The bride and her bridemaids carried platinum corded clutch bouquets consisting of Osiana, Porselana, and Sterling Silver roses, dendrobium orchids, and seeded eucalyptus. Included in the bride's bouquet was a piece of Brussels lace, formed into a rose, that was originally part of Jamie's great-grandmother's wedding dress. Worn by Florence Chilton Ricketts in 1908, it has since been in several family weddings, including Jamie's grandmother and mother.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Double Tree Allen Center. A buffet dinner was enjoyed at tables decorated with candles, ivy, and rose petals, followed by dancing to the music of the Kit Reid Band.
Mr. and Mrs. Herring will be residing in Ft. Worth, Texas while they both attend college.
