Melanie Louise Long and Trevor Thieme Wallace were married on Saturday, June 20, 1998 at 8p.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. The candlelight ceremony was performed by Father John Upton. Music was provided by organist Catherine Sahinen and soloist Miss Michelle Fetters. A reception followed at the Houstonian in the Evergreen Ballroom with music provided by The David Caceres band. The grooms father, Mr. Edward Gregg Wallace Jr. hosted the rehearsal dinner at The Brownstone, with music provided by The Ronnie Renfrow band.
Melanie is the daughter of Mrs. Susan O. Long and the late Mr. David C. Long of Houston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Louise Ogier and the late Mr. Maurice J. Ogier and Mr. Charles Long and the late Mrs. Melanie Long all of New Orleans. Trevor is the son of Mr. Edward Gregg Wallace Jr. and Mrs. Livia Kima Wallace of Houston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Woldemar Kima of Denver, Colorado and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gregg Wallace Sr. of Conroe, Texas.
The bride's maid of honor was Miss Kimberly Clark, of Houston. Her bridesmaids were Miss Jennifer Albright, Miss Anne Cook, Miss Michelle Fetters, and Miss Chantell Kramr, all of Houston. The flower girl was Miss Henning Wallace of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Martin Mayne of Houston, served as best man. Groosmen were Brian Long of Houston and David Long of Austin, Texas, brothers of the bride, Mr. Justin Leonard and Mr. David McIlwain. Serving as ushers were Mr. Elliot Hunt and Mr. Eric Hunt.
Melanie is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High school in Houston, Texas. She received a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Houston. Melanie is a teacher in the Alief School District.
Trevor attended St. Johns School in Houston, Texas; The University of Texas in Austin; and The University of Houston. He is currently employed with Commercial Capital Trading Corporation.
Following a honeymoon in the South of France, the couple will reside in Houston.
