Miss Laura Marie Kolarik and Mr. Jim Eric Cox were united in marriage on Saturday, May 16, 1998 at six o'clock in the evening. The marriage was performed at Mallorca's on Waterford Harbor in Kemah, Texas. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Kenneth Trent of Channelview, Texas. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Mallorca's. Music for the wedding and reception was provided by Bay Brass Quintet. On the morning of the wedding a bridesmaid brunch was held at Mallorca's hosted by Madie Cortese, Marie French, aunts of the bride and Susan and Leslie Hughes cousin of the bride. On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at Villa Capri.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence W. Kolarik of Channelview. She is the grand daughter of Mrs. Jeanette A. Jones and the late Lamar Jones and Francis Kolarik and the late Henry W. Kolarik.
Jim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Cox of Normangee, Texas. He is grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Cox and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Haley. Mrs. Kerri Vincent of Crosby, sister of the bride, and Ms. Heather Eberhardt, friend of the bride, serving as flower girls were Madison and Bailey Eberhardt, and Macie Walters, niece of the bride. The ring bearer was Chase Cox, nephew of the groom.
Serving as groom's best man was Mr. Russell Brown of Houston. The groomsmen were Mr. Ben Painter and Mr. Bryan Ameen both of Houston. Ushers were Steve Vincent and Kirk Walters, both from Crosby.
Laura and Jim are graduates of Channelview High School and Sam Houston State University. Laura is employed as a teacher for Channelview Independent School District. Jim is employed by Nickell Environmental Management.
Following a Caribbean Cruise honeymoon, Mr. and Mrs. Cox are residing in Houston.
