Miss Michelle Alyse Berry and Mr. Tommy R. Truitt were united in marriage on Saturday, June 20, 1998 by Dr. Jack Shelton by John Wesley United Methodist Church. Music was provided by organist Mrs. Lee Haggot. A buffet dinner & dance followed at Champions Golf Club with music by Cafe. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Clementines.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marvin Berry and the granddaughter of Mrs. Ila Mae Lindsey and the late Mr. Loyd V. Lindsey of Abilene, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Berry of Minden, Louisiana.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Joann Truitt and the late Mr. Ronnie D. Truitt and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Thompson of Houston, Texas.
Given in marriage by her father. Michelle selected a gown of white silk organza with a matching tiara by the House of Bianchi. The bodice of the gown and tiara were beaded with pearls, crystals and iridescents. The full skirt flowed to a cathedral train with veiling extending beyond. The bride carried a bouquet of white bridal roses and stephanotis.
Renae Berry Smith, sister of the bride, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Terri Truitt-Salesman, sister of the groom and Mrs. Cherie Champneys Scroggins. The bridesmaids wore satin gowns in celedon and carried nosegays of pastel roses.
Lifelong friend, Mr. George Leach served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Mr. Tim Truitt, brother of the groom, Mr. David Berry, brother of the bride, Mr. Jeff Williams, Mr. Peter Raymond and Mr. Cary Kreskai.
The bride is a graduate of Cypress Creek High School and Sam Houston State University where she finished Summa Cum Laude with degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies, Special Education and History. She is a member of the National Dean's List, Alpha Chi, Golden Key and Kappa Delta Pi honor socities. Michelle is a Special Education teacher at Copeland Elementary in the Cypress Fairbanks ISD.
The groom graduated from Cypress Creek High School and attended Sam Houston University. He is also a Certified Emergency Medical Technician. Tommy is employed as a Sales Representative for Houston Distributing Company.
After a honeymoon in Cancun, Tommy and Michelle will make their home in Houston, Texas.
