Christi Collins and David Weild IV were married on Saturday, June 27, 1998 at four o'clock in the afternoon at Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. The main officiant was Father Niall Noland of The Woodlands, Texas, assisted by Father Alfred Balinong of New York, New York. Mrs. Ceil Scorcelletti arranged the music at the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. David Weild III hosted the rehearsal dinner the previous night at The Brownstone. A reception followed at the Houston Country Club. Music was provided by Commercial Art.
The bride is the daughter of Regina and Robert Collins of Houston, Texas. The groom is the son of Drue and David Weild III, of Pelham Manor, New York.
Attending the bride as matron-of-honor was Mrs. Peggy Ninkov of Perth, Australia. The bridesmaids were Miss Angela Griffs; Miss Melissa Quarnstrom; Miss Jeannette McAllister, all of Houston, Texas; the groom's sister, Ms. Kim Weild, of Los Angeles, California; and junior bridesmaids, Miss Sarah Quillian of San Antonio, Texas. The flowergirls were Miss Gina Fritz and Miss Natasha Ninkov. The ringbearer was Mr. Thomas Barfield.
Serving the groom as best man was Dr. Seth Gendler of New Rochelle, New York. The groomsmen were Mr. Jerry Worsham of The Woodlands, Texas; Mr. Mladen Ninkov of Perth, Australia; groom's brothers Mr. Rob Weild of Pelham Manor, New York; and Mr. Jaimie Weild of Seattle, Washington. The ushers included the bride's brothers, Mr. Thomas Collins of Venezuela; and Mr. Michael Collins of Dallas, Texas; and Mr. Michael Burns of Los Angeles, California; and Mr. John Walden of London Ontario.
The bride wore a Richard Glasgow full-length backless wedding gown in ivory silk satin organza. This A-line silhouette featured a neckline trimmed with Guipuire hand-beaded lace and Austrian crystal which also adorned the spaghetti straps. The gown was hand-finished with buttons and loops and a small bow at the back with Austrian crystals and hand-made Guipuire lace, completed with a detachable Cathedral-length train of silk satin organza.
The bride is a flight attendant with Continental Airlines. The groom is the Managing Director, Head of High Technology for Prudential Securities, Inc., New York, New York.
After a honeymoon in Paris and Kenya, the couple will reside in Manhattan.
