Miss Lucy Elizabeth Kormeier and Mr. Thomas Andrew Howley were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 27, 1998 at half past seven o'clock in the evening at the Church of St. John the Divine, Houston, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend Dr. Laurens A. Hall with assistance by the Rev. Charles A. Sumners, Jr., the bride's godfather. Scripture readings were given by Catherine Elise Atkinson and by Scott Frigon. The acolyte for the ceremony was Christopher Caudill. A reception followed at the River Oaks Country Club with music provided by Yvonne Washington. The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the George Ranch on the eve of the wedding.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Victor A. Kormeier, Jr. She is the granddaughter of Elizabeth Rivers Stayton and Alma Kormeier Reed both of Austin and the late Mr. J.W. Caudill and the late Mr. V. A. Kormeier. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Howley of Louisville, Kentucky. He is the grandson of Mrs. Michael Browne from Wayne PA and the late Mr. Browne and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Howley.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. The wedding gown was complemented by a headpiece lovingly fashioned by the bride's aunt, Chris Caudill, from headpiece and veil previously worn by the bride's maternal grandmother and mother.
Serving as maids of honor were Catherine Lucile Camp and Christina Joubert Kellaway. Bridesmaids were Alison Howley Phelps, Stephanie Anne Fisk, Amy Catherine Webster, and Karen Melverne Rasmussen. Serving as the groom's Best Man was David Brooks Brown. The groomsmen were Jon Patrick Howley, Steven Lynn Phelps, Victor August Kormeier, III, Charles Edward Wagner, Torey Coleman Strause,and Carter Bergoust Payne. The usher was Jonathan Tyson Atkins. The house party included Anne Elizabeth Caudill, Anne Drayton Kormeier, Kimberly Kormeier Hagara, Jennifer Eileen DeWitt, and Vanessa Winter.
Elizabeth is a graduate of St. John's School and Bucknell University. She also received a MBA from the Fuqua School of Business and a Master of Environmental Management from the Nicholas School of the Environment, both at Duke University. Elizabeth has now accepted a position with Enron.
Tom is a graduate of Kentucky Country Day School and Indiana University. He also received his JD form the University of Louisville Law School. He has accepted a position with Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand. Following their honeymoon, the couple will reside in Houston.
