McREYNOLDS - MARINELLI
Miss Merritt Grey McReynolds
Weds
Mr. Jon Rocco Marinelli
Miss Merritt Grey McReynolds and Mr. Jon Rocco Marinelli were united in marriage at sunset on Saturday, January 10, 1998 in Los Cabos, Mexico. The ceremony, overlooking the Sea of Cortez on the terrace of Las Ventanas al Paraiso, was officiated by Dr. Alexandro Davila. Special music was provided by El Duo Bacigalupe, a classical harp and bass duo. A formal candlelight dinner dance followed at Las Ventanas with music by The Talk of The Town of Los Angeles, California.
On the eve of the wedding a rehearsal dinner was given by the parents of the groom at Casa del Mar. A post-rehearsal party then followed at The Beach Club hosted by close friends of the bride's parents.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. George Walter McReynolds, Houston, Texas and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Loyall Hardy Duyck of Florida and the late Dr. and Mrs. George Street McReynolds of Galveston, Texas. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Marinelli of Panther Valley, New Jersey and the grandson of Mrs. Donald James Beall and the late Mr. Beall and Mrs. Joseph Marinelli and the late Mr. Marinelli, all of Columbus, Ohio.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride chose a gown of imported silk satin designed by Richard Glasgow. In classic silhouette, the fitted bodice of lustrous ivory satin was framed by an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline tipped with handmade silk flowers and gathered at the back with small French covered buttons. The formal A-line skirt was elaborately accented with a cascading border of matching silk flowers encircling the gown's hemline sweeping into a full cathedral length train. Her veil of multi-tiered silk illusion elegantly fell over her shoulders into the folds of the gown to beyond the train's hemline.
The bride carried a traditional bouquet of white and champagne open garden roses, gardenias, Casablanca lilies, white dendrobium orchids, bougainvillea and English ivy. With her cascading bouquet, she carried an antique handkerchief trimmed in heirloom Brussels lace which had been carried by her maternal grandmother and mother on their wedding days. Miss Larkin Street McReynolds of Houston, Texas served her sister as maid of honor. She wore a coral gown of Duchess satin designed by Richard Tyler which extended into a sweep train with matching satin slippers. She carried a bouquet of roses and bougainvillea in shades of coral. Dr. Scott Anthony Marinelli served his brother as best man.
The bride is a graduate of The Kinkaid School, Houston, Texas and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Marsh Rice University, Houston, Texas. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Houston Law Center and is an attorney with the law firm of Cruse, Scott, Henderson and Allen, L.L.P., Houston, Texas.
The groom received his Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University at Oxford, Ohio. He will graduate in May, 1998 from The Jessie H. Jones Graduate School of Administration, William Marsh Rice University, Houston, Texas, with a Master's Degree in Finance. He has accepted a position with B.T. Alex Brown, Incorporated as an investment banking associate in the Energy and Power Group, Houston, Texas.
