Christie Michelle Kercho and John Matthew Havlick were united in marriage on Saturday, January 17, 1998 at seven in the evening at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston. The ceremony was performed by Father George Sheltz. Reception followed at the Magnolia Ballroom.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Kercho of Cypress, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Nita Butler of Mesquite, Texas; Edwin John Kercho of Houston, and Mr. and Mrs. Julius Pavlicek of Houston.
The groom is the son of Mr. Milton E. Havlick II, and the late Diane Havlick, both of Tomball, Texas. He is the grandson of Lunette Havlick and Dorothy Morrow, both of Houston.
Miss Briana White of Bakersfield, California, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Maureen Burke, Holly Havlick, Hope Havlick, all of Houston; Lee Braun and Lynee Braun of Austin, Texas; Jennifer Glickman of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Alicia Walker of Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Robert Koehler served as best man. Groomsmen were Milton E. Havlick III, Michael Mahar, R.T. Melton, all of Houston; Daniel Gamez of Ft. Worth, Texas; Nick Roppolo of Forest Park, Ohio; John Schaaf of Irvine, Kentucky; and Todd Walker of Dallas, Texas.
Ushers included Cody Coe, Craig Kercho, Pat Lewis and Clay Nicholson. Ringbearer was Milton E. Havlick IV (Holden), nephew of the groom. Miss Jennifer Kercho, cousin of the bride, served as guest book attendant.
Christie graduated from Cypress Creek High School and The University of Houston was a BS in Hotel and Restaurant Management. John graduated from Tomball High School and The University of Texas at Austin with a BA degree. The bride and groom wish to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Todd Walker, Mrs. R.T. Melton, Mrs. Frank Smejkal, Mrs. David Litzau, and Ms. Sandra Coe, for the wedding showers; and Mrs. Jim Towsen, for the bridesmaid luncheon on the day of the wedding. These memories will last a lifetime.
Following a honeymoon to Lake Tahoe, the California Napa Wine Valley and San Francisco, the couple will reside in Addison, Texas.
