Miss Ashley Renee Taylor and Mr. Jeremy Todd Gathright were united in marriage on Saturday, January 31, 1998 at four o'clock at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The candlelight double-ring ceremony was performed by Reverend Diane Wimberley. Special music was provided by the St. Paul's choir. A reception followed at the Plaza Club with music provided by Nobody's Fool. On the eve of the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. William Gregory Gathright hosted a rehearsal dinner at Pappasito's.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Adrienne Andry Taylor and Robert Martin Taylor, Jr. of Sugar Land and the granddaughter of Mrs. Alyce Morris Andry and the late Mr. Jules Peter Andry of Sugar Land and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Martin Taylor, Sr. of Houston. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gregory Gathright of Porter and Mr. and Mrs. Kevin E. Fore of Sugar Land. Jeremy is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Gathright of Porter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Daniel McShan of Porter, and Mr. and Mrs. Benny Fore of Orange.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a traditional gown of silk and Alencon lace with a jewel neckline. The gown was adorned with seed pearls and opalescent crystals and featured a fitted bodice and sleeves with a dropped waist line that fell into a box pleat skirt with a detachable cathedral length train. She wore a multi-tiered silk illusion veil to complement her gown and carried a long cascading bouquet of white roses, orchids, and stephanotis.
Julie Thompson of Sugar Land served as her sister's mastron of honor. The bridesmaids were Kirsten Schultz of Seabrook, Erika Estes of Dallas, Sara Fore and Rhonda Clifton of Houston, cousins of the groom, and Amy and Sara Clark of Missouri City, cousins of the bride.
Mr. William Gregory Gathright of Porter, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Steven Fore of Port Neches, cousin of the groom, Daniel Fore of Sugar Land, brother of the groom, Luke Wilkins, Marshall Vinson, and Barry Welch, all of Houston.
Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
