Rebecca Wester of Dorchester and Corey Wayne Conrad of Pottsboro were united in marriage at 6 p.m. March 10, 2001 at Victory Baptist Church in Sherman. Dr. Kenneth Dacus of Victory Baptist Church officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Winston and Margie Wester of Dorchester, and the granddaughter of Sallie Thomas of Gunter. She graduated from Howe High School and Grayson County College. She also attended Stephen F. Austin and Southeastern State University. She is employed by Lattimore Material Company in McKinney.
The bridegroom is the son of Charles and Doris Conrad of Galion, Ohio. Grandparents are Annie Clountz of Pottsboro and Dorothy Conrad of Crestline, Ohio. He graduated from Galion High School and Ohio State University in Wooster, Ohio, and attended Agriculture Technical Institute. He is employed by Lattimore Materials in McKinney.
Attendant for the bride was Wende Perkins of Howe. Bridesmaids were Sandy Cavender of Tom Bean and Anna Messick of Howe.
Flower girl was Traci Jay, niece of the bride, of Sherman. Meagan Hendrickson, cousin of the groom of Pottsboro, assisted.
Best man was Doug Pirkle of Stephenville.
Groomsmen were Jay Conrad, brother of the groom, of Galion and Tim Belcher of Pottsboro.
Ushers and candlelighters were Charlie Miller of Lexington, Ohio, and Jeremy Jay, nephew of the bride, of Sherman.
Wedding music was presented by Roy and Jana Thomas of Sherman, organists, and Alice Mahana of Tom Bean, soloist.
A reception was held in the fellowship hall following the ceremony, with the bride's parents as hosts.
Reception assistants included Debra Oswalt and Ginea Streetman of Howe; June Hendrickson of Pottsboro and Jan Clountz of Denton, cousins of the groom; and Meagan Stephens, niece of the bride, of Whitewright.
The couple is at home in Pottsboro.
The bridegroom's parents were hosts to a rehearsal dinner March 9 at Arlene's Catfish in Denison.
