Amber Brooke McMillan and Jason Ryan Mahon, both of Sherman, were united in marriage at 10 a.m. Aug. 4, 2001 on the patio of Benjamin's in Sherman. The bride's uncle, the Rev. Darryl Wall of Alberta, Canada, officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Douglas McMillan of Sherman. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rojelio Herrera of Sherman and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley McMillan of Wichita Falls. She graduated from Sherman High School in 2000 and attended Stephen F. Austin University. She will be a junior at Texas Women's University this fall.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Mahon of Sherman. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hale of Sherman and Mr. and Mrs. Royce Mahon of Loraine. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1998 and from Texas Christian University in May, 2001 with a masters of accounting. He is employed by Arthur Anderson L.L.P. in Fort Worth.
Attendants for the bride were Meredith McMillan, sister of the bride and Amber Nix of Sherman, maids of honor. Honor attendant was Clay Jones of Sherman. Bridesmaids were Kacey Bryant of Pottsboro, Rashell Buxton of Stillwater, Melanie Glass of Sherman and Wendy LaFargue of Humble.
Flower girl was Sarah Anderson of Sherman. Logan Herrera, cousin of bride, of Lindale, was ring bearer.
Best men were James Mahon, father of the groom and Chance Bagley of The Colony. Angela Mahon, sister of the groom, of Grapevine was the honor attendant. Serving as groomsmen and ushers were Micah and Mark Stewart, cousins of the groom, of Fayetteville, Ark., Nathaniel and Zachary Hale, cousins of the groom, and Jason James, all of Sherman.
Tiffany Chesshire, cousin of the groom, of Sherman served as guest greeter and register attendant.
Wedding music was presented by vocalists Angela Mahon and Kari Goldie of Orpington Kent, England and Gina Segrest of Sherman. Austin Sneeden of Sherman was pianist.
The reception immediately followed the ceremony inside Benjamin's. Keeler Mobil D.J. of Ivanhoe provided the music.
Dianna Buxton of Stillwater was wedding coordinator. Kathy Weiner of Durant assisted with wedding details.
The couple will be at home in Watauga after a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
The bridegroom's parents were hosts to a rehearsal dinner Aug. 3 at The Gallery Coffee House in Denison.
The couple was honored at several events in the weeks before the wedding.
An engagement party hosted by Leigh and Ben Dye, Gail and Ben Evangelist, Kim and Rick Jones, Terri and David Kennedy, Lisa Loe, Diane and Cary McDougal and Lanetta and Riley Nix was given on April 21.
A shower hosted by Vicki Abbott, Adonna Bagley, Donna Blair, Judy James, Genie Plumlee and Marion Work and a Pampered Chef shower given by Jena Farrington, Karon Northington and Donna Bodovsky honored the couple in July.
The bride was given a surprise personal shower by Dianna and Rashell Buxton of Stillwater immediately following rehearsal.
