MCKINNEY -- Deanna Chapman of McKinney and Dr. Norman Arslanlar of Oklahoma City were united in marriage Oct. 6, 2001 at the First United Methodist Church in McKinney. Rev. Robert Thompson of Highland Park Presbyterian Church officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Chapman of McKinney and granddaughter of Branka Petrovich of Sherman. She graduated from Sherman High School and Stephen F. Austin State University and is employed as a special education teacher by the Richardson Independent School District.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sakir Arslanlar of Oklahoma City. He graduated from Putnam City West High School, the University of Oklahoma, and the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is currently a radiology resident in Oklahoma City.
Attendant for the bride was Heather Chapman of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Baca of Sherman and Danielle Helm of McKinney.
Best man was Dr. Sami Arslanlar of Dallas. Groomsmen were Jeremy Cockrill of Frisco and Kent McCormick of Westport, Conn.
Ushers were Rich Casey of Jones, Okla. and Brad Tucker of Warr Acres, Okla.
Wedding music was presented by Adagio Strings of Dallas and Steven Hall of Dallas, soloist.
A reception was held at Eldorado Country Club with the bride's parents as hosts. Reception assistants included Shari Grossman of Burkbank, Calif., Shannon Smith of Dallas and Stacy Stout of Richardson.
The couple will be at home in Oklahoma City after a wedding trip to Kauai Island, Hawaii.
The groom's parents were hosts to a rehearsal dinner Oct. 5 at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen.
