Dunn -- Todd
Buffy Marie Dunn and Jeffrey David Todd, both of Sherman, were united in marriage Oct. 6, 2001 at Western Heights Church of Christ in Sherman. Tim Stidham of Los Alamos, New Mexico officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Beverly Dunn of Denison. Grandparents are Leona Couch and the late Wayne Couch of Denison, Vernon and Jean Dunn of Springfield, Ill. and Paul J. Davidson of San Francisco, Calif. She graduated from Denison High School and Grayson County College and is employed by Sherman Police Department.
The groom is the son of David and Charlotte Todd of Sherman. Grandparents are Cora Simco and the late Walter Simco of Sherman, Christine Echols and the late Otis Todd, both of Denison. He graduated from Sherman High School and Texas A&M; at Commerce. and is employed by the United States Post Office in Sherman.
The bride carried two handkerchiefs which belonged to her late great-grandmother, Flora Dunn, of Enid, Oklahoma. She also carried a wedding ring and wore a 1942 six pense given to her by her grandmother, Leona Couch. Her bouquet of white roses contained a single stephanotis flower carried in her mother's bouquet when she married the bride's father 33 years ago.
Attendants for the bride were Claudia Schultz of Wichita Falls and Michelle Blasingame of McKinney, matrons of honor and Jenni Price of Denison, maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Nabors, sister of groom, of Sherman, Karen Holley, cousin of bride, of Corinth, Karol Carter, cousin of bride, of Lewisville, Sherry Nowlin of Denison and Sara Waldrip of Bells. Junior bridesmaid was Jamie Holley, cousin of bride, of Corinth.
Flower girl was Morgan Carter, cousin of bride, of Lewisville. Tyler Carter, cousin of bride, also of Lewisville, was ring bearer.
David Todd, father of groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Josh and Heath Leeder, nephews of groom, and Kyle Nabors, brother-in-law of groom, all of Sherman, Michael and Casey Dunn, brothers of the bride, of Denison, Stuart Blasingame of McKinney and Ed Schultz of Wichita Falls.
Ushers were Barry Holley, cousin of bride, of Corinth and Steve Carter, cousin of bride, of Lewisville.
Candle lighters were Michael and Casey Dunn.
Anita Hurd, cousin of groom, of Pampa, registered guests.
A reception was held in Sherman Municipal Ballroom with the bride's parents as hosts. Reception assistants included Cindy Carr and Cathy Waldrip of Bells, Shannon Smithers and Chelo Craig of Sherman and Laura Barajas and Val Wetherington of Howe.
The couple will be at home at Sherman after a wedding cruise to the Grand Caymen Islands, Playa De Carma, Ocha Rios and Cozumel.
The groom's parents were hosts to a rehearsal dinner Oct. 5 at the Western Heights Church of Christ.
The bride was honored with several showers including a personal shower by Claudia Schultz, Michelle Blasingame and Jenni Price, a family shower by JoAnn Arthur, Karol Carter, Karen Holley and Sandy Tallant, and a Pampered Chef shower by Michelle Armstrong. Western Heights Church of Christ also hosted a shower for the couple.
