Hills - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hills of rural Monroe City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by their children from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at the Monroe City High School cafeteria.
Harold Hills and Mary Eaton were united in marriage at 8 a.m. on June 5, 1954, at the United Methodist Church of Monroe City.
The Rev. W.K. Harper officiated.
Attendants were Jane Thompson Verrant and John Burditt.
Mrs. Hills is the daughter of the late Wendell and Vesta Eaton and Mr. Hills is the son of the late Walter and Bessie Hills.
They are the parents of six children, Gary Hills and wife, Karen, Tim Hills and wife, Lori, Holly Parn and husband, Randy, Valerie Hagan and husband, Tom, all of rural Monroe City, Becki Tiffany and husband, Joe, of Frankford, and the late Douglas Hills.
They have 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Since they are retired Marion County farmers the theme for the day is "Down on the Farm" and everyone is asked to dress casual.
Suggestions are denim skirts, blue jeans or bib overalls.
Straw hats are optional.
