Gilmore — Richie
Erica Gilmore and Kevin Richie, Austin, Texas, were married Oct. 24, 2008, at Casa Blanca, Texas.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Denise Gilmore, Iola. The groom is the son of Barbara Richie, Houston, Texas, and Arnold and Ann Richie, Houston.
The couple, along with another partner, own Stage Spot, a theater lighting and equipment business. The bride is a theater technician and office manager. The groom is a theater electrician and company president.
Their ceremony took place outdoors beneath an archway built by the bride’s father. Rabbi Alan Freedman, Austin, officiated.
Special guests were Wallace and Delores Strickler, Colony, the bride’s maternal grandparents.
The bride was attended by Liasa Levy, Austin, the matron of honor, and bridesmaids Ashley Drescher, Chicago, and Kari Clubine, Manhattan, and Emma Gilmore, Iola, sisters of the bride.
The groom was attended by Brian Yellin, Portland, Ore., the best man, and Gary Weintraub, Adam Levy and Jon-Eric Simmons, all of Austin.
Sydni Keagle, Iola, daughter of the bride, was a junior bride. She was escorted by Tyler Sefferino, Cincinnati, Ohio, nephew of the groom.
Mother of the groom’s escorts were Nathan Sefferino, Cincinnati, and Colin Hunter, Austin, both nephews of the groom.
Readers were Kari Clubine, Emma Gilmore and Sheri Hunter, Austin, and Mindy Sefferino, Cincinnati, sisters of the groom.
The bride wore a white and pink satin strapless dress with crystal beading, sequins and lace with a semi-cathedral train. Attendants wore tissue taffeta tea-length dresses in sable, each dress with a different style. The junior bride wore a white and rum pink satin with spaghetti straps with a semi-cathedral train.
The bride carried long-stemmed, jewel-tone tulips, calla lilies, roses, ranunculus and lilies. Attendants carried smaller versions of the bride’s bouquet. The junior bride carried a kissing ball of maroon carnations.
The wedding cake was a three-tiered cake fashioned as decorative throw pillows made by Kari Clubine. Displayed on the cake table were a miniature bride and groom made by the bride’s maternal great-grandmother for her grandmother’s wedding cake and the miniature bride and groom that were on the groom’s maternal grandparents’ wedding cake.
A prenuptial shower was given by Liasa Levy with a luncheon at LeMadeline’s and then on to Bath Junkie where everyone prepared their own special scents of bath and shower supplies.
A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at North by Northwest in Austin.
On the guest book table were photos of the deceased grandparents there in spirit, Raymond Gilmore and Nellie and John Fowler, paternal grandparents of the bride; Nathan and Judith Mayer, maternal grandparents of the groom; and Irving and Lillian Richie, paternal grandparents of the groom.
A fajita dinner catered by Fajita Warehouse of Austin followed the wedding. Each table was decorated with four small glass vases containing jewel-toned flowers topped with a single-layer miniature cake fashioned from the bride and groom’s cake, also made by Kari Clubine.
A dance followed the dinner with lighting provided by Stage Spot.
The couple plan to take a cruise next summer for their honeymoon. They live in Austin.
