Larson — Brull

Sheridan Rae Larson and Justin Michael Brull were married May 31, 2008, in a ceremony east of Humboldt, in the pecan grove of Larry and Wilma Brock.
The Rev. Phil Honeycutt officiated at the ceremony. A light dinner and dance followed the reception at the North Community Building in Iola. On the eve of the wedding, guests enjoyed a shrimp boil prepared by the bride’s uncles.
The bride is the daughter of Stephanie and Lonnie Larson of Iola and the granddaughter of Larry and Wilma Brock and Rosalee Larson and the late Bud Larson. The groom is the son of Michael and Denise Brull of Hays and the grandson of Nadine Collins and the late Ray Keesling and Charles and Marlene Brull.
Acoustic guitar music serenaded the event.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride chose a breezy white dress of organza for the outdoor ceremony. The bodice of the dress was embroidered with pearls and laced up the back. The bride and one of her bridesmaids made her veil, also accented with pearl trim. The bride carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies with wildflower accents by Duane’s Flowers. The couple ex-changed vows under an arbor made of pecan branches. After the reception, the newlyweds camped out in the pecan grove.
The bride’s sister, Brecken Larson, served as maid of honor, wearing a tea length dress of white with a green floral pattern. Other attendants were Dana Hunter, Jamie Smidt, and Caitlin James. The bridesmaids also wore tea length dresses in clover green with variant styles. Alex and Annie Brock, cousins of the bride, were the flower girl and ring bearer. Curtis Leiker served a best man. Groomsmen were Brandon Brull, brother of the groom, Jacob Brull, cousin of the groom, and Christopher Urban. Ushers were Zach Mueller and Chris Sele, cousins of the bride, and Travis Coleman and Luke Brull, cousins of the groom.
The ceremony was truly a family affair. The bride’s family worked for over a year preparing the pecan grove.
A shower was given for the bride by Lexy and Rhonda Sigg of Iola. Following the ceremony and reception, the couple spent their honeymoon in Hawaii. The couple were graduated from Kansas State University in May and will depart for Vanuatu, an island nation in the South Pacific, to begin service with the Peace Corps in September. Mrs. Brull will teach English; Mr. Brull will be an information technology adviser.
