Marvin and Nellie Rose are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.
Marvin Rose and Nellie Solon were married Aug. 15, 1958, at First Christian Church in Iola.
The late Rev. Ray Nitcher performed the candlelight evening ceremony.
He is retired from a career of 40 years as a highway contractor for the United Postal Service.
She retired from USD 257, where she was employed for 22 years.
Except for three years in Topeka, they have spent their married life in Iola.
The couple have two daughters. Cindy Clark and her husband, Nathan, Iola, and Traci Steen, Delavan, Ill., and four grandchildren, Ashley and Emily Clark and Madison and Riley Steen.
Life is a daily celebration and no special celebration is planned.
