Edward and Patty Hoover
Edward R. and Patty J. Hover, LaHarpe, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary May 9.
Edward R. Hoover and Patty J. Tate were married May 9, 1958, in Norwalk, Calif.
In 1975, he retired from the military after 20 years service.
The couple and their three children moved to LaHarpe to be near family.
He served in Germany, France, California, Vietnam, Alaska, Korea and at Fort Leavenworth.
He drives a school bus for USD 257.
She works two days a week in the Family History Center at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Iola.
The couple’s son, John, lives in Mesa, Ariz., and their daughter, Carolyn and her husband, Ray Maloney, live in LaHarpe.
Their son, Joseph, died in 2003.
The couple have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
