Don and Judy Welch
Don and Judy Welch, Moran, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a 7 p.m. Aug. 1 reception at Iola’s American Legion Hall, 712 W. Patterson Ave. The celebration will be a dual reception honoring the couple’s anniversary and the recent marriage of their granddaughter, Jaci Hartman to Brant Littrell.
The couple were married at 3 p.m. July 26, 1959, at Moran’s United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Neal Malicky performed the ceremony.
She is the daughter of the late Fred and Helen Ensminger, and he is the son of the late Lloyd and Ruth Welch.
Both grew up in the Moran area.
Judy (Bottom) Davis was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Gloria (Ensminger) Roberts, cousin of the bride, Sue (Welch) Hoover, cousin of the groom, and Katy (McAdam) Holloway. Best man was Robert Welch, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Jerry Welch, cousin of the groom, and Wesley Stephens and Don Smith.
He is a lifetime farmer and rancher in the Moran area. She is a homemaker and retired after almost 22 years at the Allen County Farm Service Agency.
Hosts for the celebration will be the couple’s children, Karol Pock and her husband, Rick, Emporia, Kristi Hartman and her husband, Gene, LaHarpe, and Kelly Welch and his wife, Tara, Baldwin. The couple’s grandchildren are Nicholas and Ryan Henry, Clint Pock, Amanda (Pock) Crowell and her husband, Dusty, Jaci (Hartman) Littrell and her husband, Brant, Julie and Jill Hartman and Katherine, Daniel and Selene Welch. They couple have three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Caleigh and Rylan Crowell.
