Dale and Jacqueline Webb
On Saturday, former Iolans Dale and Jacqueline Webb, Ozark, Mo., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. The couple were married in 1959 in Independence.
He was born in Blue Eye, Mo., one of 10 children born to Kenneth and Julia Lucille Webb. He served in the U.S. Army for three years and married Jacqueline following his discharge. He was the owner and operator of Webb Block Company in Iola until 1973. He retired from the Iola Post Office with 22 years of service as a rural mail carrier in 2002. He continues to farm acreage in Allen County and is a part-time driver for Ozark Senior Center and Whitaker Construction.
She and her twin, Jack, were born in Independence two of 10 children born to Guy and Lula Bretches. She served as Allen County Register of Deeds from 1977 until 2000 when she retired.
The couple retired to Ozark in 2002 to be close to their children, Melody and her husband, Dr. Robert Martin, West Plains, Mo., and Tammy and her husband, Steven Gore, Ozark. They have four grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley Martin and Nicole and Lauren Gore.
