Johnston, Wright vows made outdoors in Alaska
Kimberly Johnston and Anthony Wright were united in marriage July 3, 2002, in an informal outdoor ceremony at the home of the groom's parents in Anchorage, Alaska. The couple was married by the groom's father.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Wright, all of Anchorage, Alaska. Mrs. Wright is the former Suzanne Swaim of Bloomfield.
Cathy Magby attended her sister as maid of honor. The groom was attended by his brother, Geoffrey Wright. An unusual feature of the ceremony was bagpipe music by a man in Scottish attire.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Country Club. Out-of-town guests were from Idaho, Michigan, Arizona, Washington and Iowa. Guests from the Bloomfield area included Ruth Swaim, grandmother of the groom; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Spurgeon, aunt and uncle of the groom; Samantha Spurgeon, cousin of the groom and Rex Rominger, cousin of the groom's mother.
The bride is a graduate of West High School in Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University with a master's degree in counseling and psychology. She is currently the Director of Development for Planned Parenthood in Anchorage.
The groom graduated from St. Andrews in Potomac, Md. and Washington College in Chestertown, Md. with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He owns and operates a web development company, Pango Medic Inc., in Anchorage.
The couple honeymooned in Greece and will make their home in Anchorage.
