McClintock - Gipe
Valerie Joy McClintock of Sarasota, Fla. and Jason Edward Gipe of Columbia City were married at 6 p.m. May 30, 2004 at Phillippi Estates Park in Sarasota, Fla. by the Rev. Tony Camp.
The bride wore a strapless ivory dress with a champagne border at the top and bottom, bell skirt and fitted top to the waist. She wore white sparkly flip flops, a white two-layer veil in the back and vintage vine and flower necklace and earrings.
She carried white roses with pink tips, tied with white ribbons.
The groom wore a khaki suit with a white shirt and tan flip flops.
Maids of honor were Ashley Payne and Mardi McClintock. Ashley wore a halter top, champagne colored floor length dress. Mardi wore a strapless, champagne color T-length dress. Both wore curls and a single flower in their hair and white flip flops.
Bridesmaids were Jolene Gipe, Jacquelyn Russell, Jackie Wright and Laura Rice. Each girl wore a slightly different patterned dress with the same champagne color. They also wore a flower in their hair and white flip flops. They carried pink roses tied with blue and white ribbon.
Best men were Adam Shively and Jeremy Gipe. Groomsmen were Shawn McClintock, Joel Targgart, Mark Ray and Shane Smith. They wore khaki slacks and white short sleeved shirts with tan flip flops.
Both of the couple's parents escorted them down the aisle to give them away.
Music during the ceremony included Forever by John Stamos and The Beach Boys and All You Need is Love by Lynden David Hall. Watch the Wind Go By was played during the couple's first dance.
A reception was held at Phillippi Mansion. Guest registerer was Lauren Bradley and Nellie's Deli served the food.
Prior to the wedding, a bridal shower was held at Debbie Targgart's home, a luau couples shower at Ryan and Ann Frymire's home and a couples shower at Bill and Sandy Gipe's home. The rehearsal dinner was held at the bride's parent's house with close family and the wedding party. The dinner was catered by Olive Garden.
The couple had a honeymoon in the Florida Keys and also took an Alaskan cruise. They reside at a farm house in Albion, (thanks to June Shively.)
The bride is a daughter of Mark and Robin McClintock of Sarasota, Fla. She attended Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Fla. for three semesters. She attended Manatee Community College in Sarasota, Fla. for one semester and graduated with a two-year associates degree. She plans to be a substitute teacher.
The groom is a son of Jeff and Deb Gipe of Columbia City. He graduated from Huntington College with a Bachelor of Science degree in youth ministry. He plans to go into youth ministry.
