Erin Slaughter and Brad Bennett were joined in marriage at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 1999, at the Jefferson Place, Kokomo.
The Rev. Steve Cole performed the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jay and Susanna Slaughter, Galveston. She graduated in 1994 from Lewis Cass High School and received a degree in special education from Indiana State University in 1998. She is a special education teacher at Peru High School.
The groom is the son of Wally and Ruth Bennett, Walton. He is a 1994 graduate of Lewis Cass High School. He graduated in 1998 from Indiana State University were he obtained a degree in physical education, health education and driver education. He is employed by Bluffton Middle School where he is a swimming teacher.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a designer gown in diamond white with a silk-satin bodice, off-shoulder straps and empire waist bodice with a bow and lilies of the valley. The skirt was of tulle with a short train. She carried a bouquet of baby's breath tied with white satin ribbon. Wedding colors were navy and white.
Kian Harrison, Galveston, was matron of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were Lisa King, cousin of the bride, Kokomo, Gayle Rothe, San Diego, Calif., and Jennifer Theis, Indianapolis.
Wally Bennett, brother of the groom, Walton, was best man. Mike Durst, Boulder, Colo., Brian Bennett, brother of the groom, Indianapolis, and Jim Rose, Kokomo, were groomsmen.
Ushers were Brian Weiher, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brad Pardue, Indianapolis.
Sisters of the groom, Kim and Kerry Bennett, served as guest registrars.
Don Krug, Walton, offered the musical selections on the organ.
The wedding reception was hosted at Walnut Creek Banquet Hall, Kokomo, following the ceremony.
The couple took a wedding trip to Florida and a Disney Cruise.
