Cristina DaSilva and Carlos Vas were married December 3, 2000 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Danbury by the Rev. Raja Bose.
The bride is the daughter of Frank and Zita DaSilva of Elmar Drive, Danbury. The bridegroom is the son of Marcus and Fatima Vas of Danbury.
The bride's sister, Teresa Samuelson, was matron of honor. Her sisters, Fatima DaSilva and Linda DaSilva, Cheryl DaSilva, Maria Mullen, Greta Silva and Helena Androde were bridesmaids. Allison Vas was flower girl.
The bridegroom's brother, Tony Vas, was best man. Jose Vas, Dan DaSilva, Ed Sandifer, Ted Mullen, John Simoes and Rick Silva were ushers. Erik Samuelson was ring bearer.
A reception followed at the Amber Room in Danbury.
Cristina Vas graduated from Immaculate High School in Danbury and from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa., with a music degree. She earned a master's degree in elementary education from the University of Bridgeport and is a teacher for the Danbury public schools.
Carlos Vas graduated from Immaculate High School and from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury with a mathematics degree and received certification as a network administrator. He is a district network administrator for the Danbury public schools.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, they are living in Danbury.
