Galván de Casteneda and Casteneda wed at Parkview Baptist Church
Ana Galván de Casteneda and Nazario Casteneda, both of Lexington, wed at Parkview Baptist Church on Aug. 28, 2004.
The Rev. Abraham Montalvo of Norfolk officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride's mother, Hilda Tremillo of El Paso, Texas, attended the ceremony. The bride's father, Ramon Galván, is deceased.
The groom's mother, Jeronima Castillo of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, also attended the ceremony. The groom's father, Fortunato Castaneda, is deceased.
Maid of honor was the groom's daughter, Roxanna Casteneda of Lexington.
Bridesmaids included the bride's aunt, Blanca Quiroga of Lexington; Nohemi Perez, the bride's former pastor from Fullerton, Calif.; Alexandra Rios, wife of the bride's pastor in Lexington; Santa Domingo, the bride's sister, of Lexington; and Dina Tremillo, the bride's aunt, of Grand Island.
Groomsmen included Armando Quiroga, the bride's uncle, of Lexington; Eduardo Perez, the bride's former pastor from Fullerton, Calif.; Oscar Rios, the bride's pastor in Lexington; Pedro Domingo, the bride's brother-in-law, of Lexington; Edgar Quiroga, cousin of the bride of Lexington; and Raul Quiroga, cousin of the bride of Lexington.
The flower girl was the couple's daughter, Leslie Casteneda and the ring-bearer was the couple's son, Allen Casteneda.
The bride's aunt and uncle, Blanca and Armando Quiroga assisted with the Lazo. The bride's pastor and his wife assisted with the Arras. Eduardo and Nohemi Perez of Calif., assisted with the rings. Pedro and Santa Domingo assisted with the pillow. Dina Tremillo and Edgar Quiroga assisted with the bouquet and Roxanna Casteneda and Raul Quiroga assisted with the Bible.
The couple was married 11 years ago in a civil ceremony and wanted to be married by the church to receive the blessing of God.
Nazario owed Ana an engagement ring for 11 years and finally gave her one. They are very happy and are excited to be married and share this moment with their children.
Nazario has two daughters, Roxana, 16, of Lexington, and Daisy, 14, who lives in California with her mother. The couple also have three children together, Allen, 6, Leslie, 3, and Priscila, 1.
A reception was held at the Holiday Inn Express and the couple remained there for their honeymoon.
