Elwood couple to wed in Battle Creek
Laura Schmeckpeper of Elwood, formerly of Lincoln, and Shane Tilson of Elwood, will exchange marriage vows on Saturday, Nov. 27, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek.
Parents of the couple are Rod and Jean Schmeckpeper of Battle Creek and Charles and Charlene Tilson of Elwood.
Grandparents of the couple are Helen Lopez of Valentine and the late Louie Lopez, Elaine Schmeckpeper of Norfolk and the late Norman Schmeckpeper, Arthur and Dolores Oelkers of Elwood, and the late Russell and Jane Tilson, formerly of Elwood.
The bride-to-be is a 1998 graduate of Battle Creek High School and a 2000 graduate of the College of Hair Design in Lincoln.
She presently is a cosmetologist at Hair Tech in Lincoln.
The prospective groom is a 1998 Elwood High graduate and 2003 graduate of the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island.
He is a deputy sheriff in Gosper County.
