Mr. and Mrs. Richard Schifferle of Eggertsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering in their daughter's home and a Mass in Christ the King Catholic Church, Snyder, where Schifferle and Loretta Schubert were married June 12, 1954, followed by a dinner in Family Tree Restaurant, Eggertsville.

He is retired from the Floor Plan Department of M&T Bank.

The couple has five children, 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
