Mr. and Mrs. Bion E. "Bus" Smith of Angola celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a family gathering in their home.

Smith and Jeanette Laverty were married June 23, 1934, in First Baptist Church, Silver Creek.

They are retired owner/operators of an Angola candy store and bus station.

The couple has four children, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
