Mr. and Mrs. George D. Wightman of Burlington, N.C., formerly of Chautauqua, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends in Beverly Hills United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, Burlington, N.C.
Wightman and Yvonne Lemmler were married June 7, 1934, in Congregational Church, Colrain, Mass.
He is a retired teacher; she is a retired financial clerk. The couple has four children, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
