Mary Elizabeth Rhodes and Scott Easton Quirk have announced their engagement.
The prospective bride is the daughter of John and Diane Rhodes of Washington, Mo.
She is a 1997 graduate of St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington, Mo.
She will graduate in December with a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Robert (Skip) and Paula Quirk of Hannibal.
He is a 1996 graduate of Hannibal High School.
He earned a bachelor of science degree in education in 2000 from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is currently employed by the Columbia School System.
He has accepted a position teaching and coaching at the Wright City School District beginning this fall.
The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Aug. 4, 2001 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Washington, Mo.
