Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bringer of Maywood celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner at the Patio Restaurant on Sunday, March 17.
Loretta Jones and Marvin Bringer were united in marriage on March 17, 1962, at South Union Baptist Church in Maywood.
Mrs. Bringer is the daughter of Beulah Jones and the late J.W. Jones.
Mr. Bringer is the son of the late Virgil and Christine Bringer.
They are the parents of one daughter, Rachel Lane Bringer of Palmyra.
Mr. Bringer has been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) for more than 35 years and works for Ameritech in Quincy, Ill.
He and his wife live on a farm near Maywood where he enjoys raising cattle and reading.
He serves as a deacon for the South Union Baptist Church in Maywood.
Mrs. Bringer is manager of Personal Finance Co. in Quincy, Ill., and is music director and involved in missions in her church.
She is a trustee on the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Board and is chairwoman of Marion County Planning and Zoning Commission.
Her hobbies include cooking, flower gardening and music.
