Carol Wiesen and William P. McCurdy were married at 2 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007, in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, by the Rev. Jason A. Glover.
The couple married on the same day as the bride’s parents’ 45th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Wiesen renewed their vows at our ceremony.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Wiesen, 448 S. Eighth St., Sharpsville.
Bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. John F. McCurdy, 11 Joyce St., Barrington, R.I.
Maid of Honor: Nancy Wiesen, Shelby, N.C.; and Stephanie Cooper, Salisbury, Md., were maid and matron of honor, respectively.
John F. McCurdy, Lexington, Mass., was best man. Ushers were Paul Wiesen, Melrose, Mass.; Michael Wiesen, Clinton, Pa.; and Thomas Wiesen, Sharpsville.
The bride’s dress was simple and elegant champagne silk with mocha satin ribbon at the waist, tied in a bow with a brooch at the center of the ribbon. Small buttons detailed the whole back seam of the dress.
Her bouquet in fall colors of yellow, red and orange was full of calla lilies, roses, berries and dahlias. It was wrapped with her grandmother’s handkerchief and rosary beads that were held in place with pins from her mother’s wedding veil.
A reception followed in The Corinthian, Sharon.
After a honeymoon to Rome and Florence, Italy, the newlyweds live at 11 Woodside Park, Winthrop, Mass.
Mrs. McCurdy graduated in 1994 from Sharpsville High School; and 1997 from West Virginia University in Morgantown. She is senior interior designer and project Manager for Furniture Consultants, Boston.
Her husband graduated in 1988 from Barrington High School; and 1992 from New England Institute of Technology, Warwick, R.I. He is media services specialist for MITRE Corp., Bedford, Mass.
