Strunk
50th Anniversary
Frances and Robert Strunk celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a dinner party hosted by their children at the home of their daughter and son-in-law at 49ers Country Club. Their children also presented them with a trip to Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales for the end of summer.
They have three children: Bill (Linda) Strunk of Bullhead City and Marilyn (Wayne) Rutschman and Bucky (Betty) Strunk of Tucson. Another son, Richard Alan, now is deceased. They have seven grandchildren.
Kelly
50th Anniversary
Carolyn and Charles Kelly of Green Valley will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary April 30 with a reunion and banquet at the Quality Inn in Green Valley hosted by their children.
They were married May 3, 1944 in Shreveport, La.
Carolyn is a retired medical technologist and Charles retired from the U.S. Air Force as a lieutenant colonel. He also is a retired real estate developer.
They have four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Falsey
55th Anniversary
Erdean and James Falsey celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary with dinner at Black Angus with their son Richard, “daughter’ Mary and grandsons James and Ryan.
The Falseys were married in Davenport, Iowa, April 22, 1939. Both are now retired and have lived in Arizona 14 years.
They had four children: Richard Falsey of Tucson, Carol Tietz of Tinley Park, Ill., Erdean Anderson of Chicago Heights, Ill. and James Falsey now deceased. They have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Wiese
50th Anniversary
Retirees LaRayne E. and Gilbert R. Wiese celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with family members viewing a video tape of their 50 years together. It was produced by their granddaughter Lori Kennedy. The day concluded with a dinner at the O.K. Corral hosted by their son Gary and his wife Lydia.
They were married March 18, 1944 in Berlin, Wis. and have lived in Arizona 34 years. They have two children, Gary R. Wiese and Pati Wiese Kennedy and four grandchildren.
Rogers
50th Anniversary
Ida and Dick Rogers celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with an open house at their home for family and friends.
They were married April 16, 1944 in Higginsville, Mo. and have lived in Arizona 23 years. They are retired.
They have two children: Karen Spano and Tommy Rogers, both of Tucson. They also have two grandchildren.
Memmer
50th Anniversary

They celebrated their anniversary at a dinner party with their family. They have four children: Patricia Hudak of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tom Memmer of Tuolume, Calif., and Mike and Chuck Memmer of Tucson. They have 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Gertrude and Edward have lived in Arizona more than 23 years.
Reece
50th Anniversary
Bette and Ralph Reece celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a cruise to the Caribbean.
They were married March 11, 1944 in New Bedford, Mass. and have lived in Arizona 46 years. Mrs. Reece is a homemaker and Mr. Reece is a retired plumber.
They have two children, Judie Bartch and Betz Bates, both of Tucson.
They have three grandchildren, Laurel and Kristen Bartch and Justin Morales.
Lein
76th Anniversary
Retirees Myrtle and Lloyd Lein celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary with a small family get-together at Desert Life Health Care Center.
They were married April 3, 1918 in Wisconsin and have lived in Arizona 44 years.
They have three children – Vern Lein, Robert Lein and Betty Perkins – all of Tucson; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Evans
50th Anniversary
Alpha and Robert J. Evans celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception at the Executive Inn for family and friends. It was hosted by their children Robert J., William, Stephen and Michael Evans and Caroline Gardner of Tucson and Catherine Purscell of Idaho.
Alpha is a retiree of Oro Valley Country Club and Robert is a retiree of Hughes Aircraft.
They have 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pust
60th Anniversary
Retirees Catherine and Ilmar Pust celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary with a formal dinner hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, George and Joyce, at Oracle Inn. Guests included the Richard Larsons, the Michael Harts, Lola Robershaw, the George LaPatkas, the Ron Loys, the Bob Plagemans, the Samuels, the Rodney Johnsons, the Paul Mathewses, the Joe Hayans and the Frank Salases.
The Pusts were married March 24, 1934 in Duluth, Minn. They have two grandchildren.
Ferguson
53rd Anniversary
Alice and Earl Ferguson, former long-time Tucson residents, celebrated their fifty-third anniversary at a party here hosted by their family. Attending were family members from Anchorage, Alaska; Austin, Texas; Kinsley, Kansas and San Francisco, Calif.
They are pictured on their wedding day, March 16, 1941, in Missouri. They currently reside in Santa Maria, Calif. They have three children and four grandchildren.
Condon
50th Anniversary
Mary Ellen and Walter Condon celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a dinner party for family members at the home of their son, John, in Tucson.
They were married March 1, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas when Walter was a naval aviator. They have lived in Tucson 44 years. Mrs. Condon is a homemaker and Mr. Condon is a retired doctor of veterinary medicine.
They have one other son, Richard Franklin, of San Francisco, Calif. and two grandchildren.
McNerney
58th Anniversary
Ida and William McNerney celebrated their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary with a family gathering. They have one son, Dennis McNerney of Tucson, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
They were married April 25, 1936 in St. Louis, Mo. and have lived in Arizona 50 years.
Mrs. McNerney is a retiree of the City of Tucson and Mr. McNerney is a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service.
Vermillion
50th Anniversary
Genevieve and Kenneth Vermillion celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with their family in Tucson at the home of Mary Belle and Richard McCorkle. Included in the festivities was the viewing of a video tape of their wedding day transferred from the original 8mm movie film. They were married Feb. 21, 1944 in Tucson.
This anniversary party was followed by a trip to San Diego, Calif. where Kenneth had spent many summers while he was in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.
Genevieve is a homemaker and Kenneth now is a retiree of the City of Tucson Building Safety Division.
They have three sons – Kent, Barry and Greg – and five grandchildren.
They now enjoy activities with their family, traveling, dining out, and the Young At Heart seniors’ group at their church. Their son Greg says, “Most of all, they simply enjoy being together.’
Amundson
52nd Anniversary
Ramona and Lowell Amundson celebrated their fifty-second anniversary with a get-away weekend at Park Hotel.
They were married April 9, 1942 in Pettibone, N.D. and have lived in Arizona more than 27 years. Both are retired. Lowell is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel.
They have three children: Sharon K. Orff of Brea, Calif., Susan D. Chan of Topeka, Kan. and Michael D. Amundson of Pasadena, Calif. They have three grandchildren.
