Danna
50th Anniversary
Mary Louise and Nicholas Danna will observe their fiftieth wedding anniversary this month on a trip to Puerto Penasco with family members from Michigan.
They were married Feb. 19, 1943 in St. Clair Shores, Mich. which is now their summer residence. They winter in Tucson. Mrs. Danna retired from J. L. Hudsons Company in Detroit, Mich. and Mr. Danna retired from Excello Corporation in Detroit.
They have two children: Robert of Mt. Clemens, Mich. and Nicholas of Tucson. They have four grandchildren: Bradley, Brent and Marc Danna and Jon Quandt.
Swartz
50th Anniversary
Margaret and Raymond Swartz celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception in Sierra Vista hosted by their children and grandchildren. Guests included family and friends from California, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho and British Colombia.
Now retired, they were married Jan. 22, 1944 in San Francisco, Calif.
They have three children, Cheryl (Dennis) Townsend of Tucson, Katherine Atwood of Tempe and Mark (Ellen) Swartz of Mesa, and six grandchildren.
Glasgow
50th Anniversary
Jeanne and James B. Glasgow will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a European tour – a gift from their children. They have five children: James A. Glasgow, McLean, Va.; Dr. Gary D. Glasgow, Solana Beach, Calif.; Carolyn Buchanan, Phoenix; Kendall C. Glasgow, Tucson; and Lynelle Quiroz, Flower Mound, Texas.
They were married March 12, 1944 in Tucson. Jeanne was born in Arizona and James moved here from Minnesota 51 years ago. He retired as a teacher in TUSD.
They have five grandchildren.

Fuller
54th Anniversary
Louise and Lloyd Fuller celebrated their fifty-fourth wedding anniversary with a weekend of dining out and whale- and porpoise-watching from their yacht near San Diego, Calif.
They were married Feb. 18, 1940 in Nogales and have lived in Arizona all their married lives. They have three children, Barbara Brown of Tucson and Stanley and Randy Fuller of Tucson, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Lloyd formerly was a builder in Tucson. He and Louise now live in Sierra Vista and Pinetop where Lloyd owns and operates F & S Realty and Fuller’s White Mountain Motors.

Pennell
50th Anniversary
Mary and David Pennell celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a buffet luncheon hosted by their son and his wife, Gary and Dona Pennell of Globe, and their daughter Ruth Ann of Tucson. It was attended by family and special guests Helen and Glen McGinnis.
They were married Jan. 8, 1944 in Holtwood, Pa. and have lived in Arizona 33 years.
Mary is a homemaker and David is a retired petroleum serviceman. They have seven grandchildren.
Gillis
50th Anniversary
Dorothea and Ross B. Gillis will be celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary March 19 at a dinner party in Tucson at the home of their son, Robert N.
They were married in Albuquerque, N.M. and have lived in Arizona more than 20 years. Both are retired – Mr. Gillis as an air force colonel.
They have two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Searles
65th Anniversary
Grace and Carl Searles celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends at the home of their son Charles. Among the guests were Grace’s sisters Elizabeth Hancock and Wilma O’Heirn.
Grace and Carl were married Feb. 6, 1929 in Hinckley, Ohio. They have lived in Arizona 42 years. Grace is a homemaker and Carl is a retired contractor.
They have two children, Charles Searles and Norma Weeks both of Tucson, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Shemwell
50th Anniversary
Lorraine and David Shemwell celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary dining and dancing at the Palomino Restaurant with family members and close friends from Los Angeles, Calif., Keller, Texas and Tucson.
They were married Feb. 26, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Okla. and have lived in Arizona 24 years. The Shemwells are both retired.
They have three children: Rolana Clarke of Pasadena, Calif., Sharon Kaylor of Tucson and David R. Shemwell Jr. of Tucson. They have two grandchildren.
Bridges
50th Anniversary
Betty and Bill Bridges celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception at Manor Baptist Church.
They were married March 15, 1944 in Monterey Park, Calif. and have lived in Arizona 47 years. Mrs. Bridges is a retiree of Sunnyside School District and Mr. Bridges retired from Columbus Plumbing.
They had four children: Steve Bridges of Ashland, Ore.; Robert Bridges of Kamloops, B.C., Canada; the late Eric Bridges; and Audrey Kinch of Tucson. They have five grandchildren.
Barrowclift
50th Anniversary
Peggy and Bob Barrowclift celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a dinner party at The Tack Room. This will be followed by a celebration in the Midwest to include all family members. The Barrowclifts are originally from Northbrook, Ill.
They were married Feb. 27, 1944 in Yakima, Wash. and have lived in Arizona three years. Both are retired.
They have four children: Dawn Martin, Pamela Crawford, Scott Barrowclift and Dr. Todd Barrowclift. They have 10 grandchildren.

Spencer
50th Anniversary
Evelyn and Sam Spencer are pictured celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary at Ye Olde Lantern, the location of their wedding day luncheon on Dec. 31, 1943. They had eloped and were married on their lunch hour by the justice of the peace only two weeks after they met.
Special anniversary guests were their son, Kelly Spencer, and granddaughter, Melanie Spencer.
They were married in Tucson and have lived in Arizona 52 years. They also had a daughter, Lynn Hughes who is now deceased. They have five grandchildren.
Mrs. Spencer is a retiree of Sears Roebuck and Mr. Spencer retired from O’Rielly Chevrolet.
