Stella and Ted LuJan will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at the Holiday Inn with close family and friends. They were married April 21, 1946 in Monhans, Texas. Mrs. LuJan retired from Fry’s Food Store and Mr. Lujan retired from San Manuel Magma Copper Co. Their daughters are Linda (Alfredo) Jurado of Tucson, Mary (Bob) Martin of Antelope, Calif., and Liza (Tom) Wilson of Tucson. They have 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.

50th Anniversary
Lorraine and Leo M. Plowman Sr. celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home with family at close friends. They were married April 19, 1946 in Hernando, Miss. Mrs. Plowman retired from St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. and Mr. Plowman retired from the U.S. Air Force. They are 16-year Tucson residents. Their children are Chip (Kristine) Plowman of Tucson, Dan (Gigi) of Memphis, Tenn., and Rebecca Plowman of Tucson. They have 4 grandchildren.

50th Anniversary
Bill and Trudy Romine celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a dinner hosted by their children with the immediate family. They were married April 13, 1946 at St. Philip’s in the Hills Church in Tucson. They both grew up in Tucson, just a few blocks from each other, and share many childhood memories. Now retired, Mr. Romine was prior owner of Bill’s Water Service. Mrs. Romine is a retired elementary school teacher, having taught at Wrightstown Elementary for 20 years. She is active in her church, bridge club and Ocotillo Club, which she helped found. They have raised two children, Lauri Nygren of Tucson and Betsy Harmon of California. They are the proud grandparents of Brandon and Kent Nygren.

60th Anniversary
Elsie Marie and George Anthony Haase will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in July at a family reunion at the Circle K Ranch in Deloras, Colo. They hope to be joined by their 14 children and their families. They were married April 11, 1936 in Burke, S.D. Their children are Jeanette Lane, Janice Veirch, George Haase Jr. Chet Haase, Joyce Sikora, Frank Haase, Harry Haase, JoAnn Thurman, Jeannine Ratzlaff, Judy Rich, Warren Haase, Juanita Coppock, David Haase and Jonelle Hall. They have 46 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

Angelita and Harvey Howell celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party given by their children and grandchildren at the home of George and Marina Curtis. Their children, grandchildren, and the brother, sister and sister-in-law of Mrs. Howell and their families will be attending. They were married April 23, 1946. Mrs. Howell, a native Tucsonan, is a homemaker. Mr. Howell retired from the Tucson Police Department and worked for the federal government and the Arizona state government. Their children are Robert Howell, Marina (George) Curtis and Teresa Howell, all of Tucson. They have 4 grandchildren.

Betty and Frank Claxton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner party for family and close friends at the home of their daughter, Joyce Habeck, on Dec. 15, 1995. They were married Dec. 14, 1945 in Silver City, N.M. Mr. Claxton retired from McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, Mo. They are the parents of 4 children Mike (Lou) Claxton of Tucson, Clydene (Jim) Outhier of Billings, Mont., Glenn (Joy) Claxton of Mexico, Mo., and Joyce (Marty) Habeck of Tucson. They have 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Tish and Glenn Wortman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends during an afternoon reception at Desert Gardens Church. They were married April 10, 1946 in Ada, Okla. Mrs. Wortman is retired. She worked for Montgomery Wards and One Hour Martinizing. Mr. Wortman is retired from Sheet Metal Workers Union. Their children are Robert (Jackie Wortman), Jerry (Sue) Wortman, Steve (Vicki) Wortman all of Tucson. They have 5 grandchildren.
Hartman
50th Anniversary
Delores and Leonard Hartman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at their home in Kansas City, Mo. and with a family dinner. They were married April 14, 1946 in San Francisco, Calif. They lived in Tucson for 38 years and moved in Kansas City 4 years ago. Mrs. Hartman has provided childcare and newborn foster care in her home for 26 years. She is now caring for 2 baby boys. In Tucson, Mr. Hartman was employed by Sears, Wards and Tucson Medical Center and is now with the Transportation Department at Independence Regional Hospital. Their children are Richard Hartman, Nanci (Dan) Hood, and Greg (Evelyn) Hartman of Missouri, and Tim (Carla) Hartman of Mesa, Ariz. They have 9 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and 2 more on the way.
Edwards
50th Anniversary
Louise and Edward Edwards will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and relatives at their home in Tucson. Their son, Bruce N. Edwards of Tucson, will be hosting an open house in their honor. They were married April 21, 1946 in Frankfort, Ind. They are 36-year Tucson residents. Mrs. Edwards retired from Tucson Medical Center and Mr. Edwards retired from The University of Arizona.

Oneta Beth and William Travis Singleton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. More than 100 family members and guests watched as they renewed their wedding vows, attended by their children. They renewed their testament of love of God and each other. They were married March 28, 1946 in Tucson. Mrs. Singleton retired from Pima County government and Mr. Singleton is employed by Chumber’s Realty. Their children are Rick (Nicki) Singleton of Tucson, Marla Morton of Phoenix, and Cheri (Dennis) Kiefer of Flagstaff. They have 6 grandchildren.

50th Anniversary
Faye and Neil Mueller celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to San Diego, Calif. They were married April 13, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wis. Residents of Tucson for 12 years, Mrs. Mueller retired from the W.W. Fox Center for Handicapped Children in Dwight, Ill. and Mr. Mueller is employed by Caterpillar Tractor of Pontiac, Ill. Their children are Charles (Kelly Ann) Mueller of Rockaway, N.J. and Pamela Weber (Stephen Weber) of Pontiac, Ill. They have 4 grandchildren.
Stirling
50th Anniversary
Mary “Ba’ and Robert Bruce “Puma’ Stirling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on a cruise to the island of Reunion near Madagascar. They were married April 25, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio. The Stirlings met at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. They moved to Tucson in 1949. Mr. Stirling worked for the Tucson Citizen and Mrs. Stirling taught in Tucson Unified School District. In 1961, Mr. Stirling joined the U.S. Foreign Service as an Information Officer for the United States Information Office (USIS). The Stirling family lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The family later lived in Guadalajara, Mexico while Mr. Stirling was stationed in Vietnam. Mr. Stirling retired from The University of Arizona where he was an information specialist and editor. At the present time, Mr. Stirling works part-time as editor of the UofA retirees newsletter, Jubilacion. Mrs. Stirling retired from Tucson Unified School District where she taught English and Reading. Mrs. Stirling is now the co-director of The Sandbox II Preschool. Their 6 children are April Romo de Vivar of Tucson, Penny (Donnie) Johnson of Tucson, Robin (Parvis) Kottabi of Tucson, Mercy (Sergio) Duenas of Guadalajara, Mexico, Bruce (Debbie Forehand) Stirling of Phoenix, Scot (Ann McDonough) Stirling of Scottsdale. They have 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
