50th Anniversary
Edith “Dollie’ and William “Bill’ Vossler will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and reception at home given by their children, Cynthia (Dave) Gallaher of Pendleton, Ore. and Todd (Pam) Vossler of Tucson.
They were married April 10, 1946 in Altoona, Pa. Mr. Vossler is retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Co.
They have 3 grandchildren.
Sayer
60th Anniversary
Lucile and Charles H. Sayer celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March at a luncheon with many relatives and friends at The Westward Look Resort.
They were married in 1936 in Indiana and have lived in Tucson for 17 years. Mr. Sayre is retired from Federal-Mogul Corporation in Detroit, Mich.
They have one son, Charles L. Sayre of Ann Arbor, Mich. Their grandson is Todd Sayre of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Smith
50th Anniversary
Rosalie and Edgar Smith celebrated their 50th anniversary by renewing their vows during mass conducted by Fr. Stephen Watson at Santa Cruz Church, where they were married Feb. 1, 1946. A dinner at the Doubletree Hotel followed, gathering family and friends. Out-of-town guests included Irene Dennet and Connie Beatty from Alexandria, Va., their 3 daughters Janet Smith from Belleview, Wash., Dorothy Ragland from Woodbridge, Va. and Carol Silverthorn from Lorton, Va. Their two sons, Edgar H. Smith and Anthony L. Smith live in Tucson.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith are now retired and have lived in Tucson for the past 10 years. They lived in Virginia for 40 years and raised their family there.
Moore
60th Anniversary
Eunice and Jesse Moore celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with dinner at the Montura at the Tubac Country Club.
They were married March 1, 1936 in Sneedville, Tenn. Mrs. Moore is a wonderful homemaker and Mr. Moore is retired from Hughes Aircraft Co. of Tucson.
Their 4 sons are Charles (Velma) Moore of Arivaca, Ariz., John (Joan) Moore of Poulsbo, Wash., Jess (Charlotte) Moore Jr. of Carpinteria, Calif., and Marvin Moore of Tucson. They have 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Giddings
50th Anniversary
Mary Ellen and Frank Giddings celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with immediate family and friends at the home of Michael Giddings.
They were married March 9, 1946 in North Vernon, Ind. Residents of Tucson for 36 years, Mrs. Giddings is a retiree of Sears and Mr. Giddings is a retired plumbing contractor.
Their children are Michael (Sheila) Giddings of Tucson, Brenda Chuba of Dallas, Texas, and the late James Giddings. They have 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Bower
50th Anniversary
Doris and Wayne Bower will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their immediate family for a week-long celebration at the Roundhouse Resort in the White Mountains of Arizona in the summer of 1996.
They were married March 24, 1946 and have lived in Tucson 26 years. Mrs. Bower is retired from The Broadway Southwest and Mr. Bower retired from Royal Buick. Their children are Chris (Dolores) Bower of Phoenix, Dr. Don (Julie) Bower of Winterville, Ga., Peggy Bower (Greg Hoxie) of Tucson, and Brad (Bethany) Bower of Arlington, Va. They have 6 grandchildren.
Petersen
50th Anniversary
Reba and John Petersen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary sightseeing and having dinner in Monterrey, Calif. with their children and grandchildren.
They were married March 2, 1946 in Tucson. Mrs. Petersen is a homemaker and Mr. Petersen retired after 41 years with U.S. West.
Their children are Tim (Pam) Petersen of Costa Mesa, Calif. and Judi (Art) Cotant of Sunnyvale, Calif. They have 4 grandchildren.
McQuown
50th Anniversary
Maxine and Jack McQuown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 16, 1996 at The Community Presbyterian Church in Benson with a gathering of family and friends who celebrated years past and years to come.
They were married Feb. 16, 1945 in Tucson. Mr. McQuown retired from IBM. Their children are Tom (Jan) McQuown of Mesa. Susan Crask of Willcox, Carey McQuown on Benson, and Peggy (John) Scott of Benson. They have 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Reichel
50th Anniversary
Joseph and Rose Marie Reichel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 27 with a dinner party of close friends and family followed by a trip to Hawaii later in the year. They have been residents of Tucson since 1956.
Mr. Reichel retired in 1982 after 25 years employed by Hughes Aircraft. Mrs. Reichel retired the same year after many happy years as a secretary for Sheet Metal Union Local 426. They have three children. Joseph Reichel II of Denver, Colo., Barbie Webb of San Diego, Calif., and Christine Hampshire (deceased). They have two grandchildren, Monique Bellew of Phoenix and Yevette Steffan of San Diego. Their one great-grandchild is Alison Bellew.
